Day & Age was hired to fully restore the 30 year old model of the schooner Atlantic for the The United States Coast Guard Academy Museum. The Schooner Atlantic served as a sail training vessel at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT for many years and so there is a sentimental attachment to the model. An exciting characteristic of the model is that it was constructed out of deck planks salvaged from the original ship. Day & Age partnered with the University of Rhode Island's Textile Conservation Lab to conserve the Atlantic model's tattered silk flag, and relieve years of staining from the ships sails.
