Our Story

DAY + AGE is a company based in Ledyard, Connecticut. We help clients bring their vision into reality- be it creative consulting on a personal art project or the restoration of a historic wooden boat, museum object, or historic property. We provide a comprehensive strategy and roadmap to success with client projects based on years of hands on experience and wide breadth of knowledge.

Specializing in the art of historic restoration, we maintain a commitment to practical yet elegant design, heirloom quality craftsmanship, and understanding the past in the context of our work. 

DAY + AGE was founded in 2013 by Jon Day, an entrepreneur with a background in sculpture, architecture, and industrial design. Jon attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, studying design, sculpture, & all means of hand fabrication. While at Pratt, Jon worked as a designer, fabricator, and exhibit installer for many galleries and artist's. After college Jon focused on honing his skills as a craftsmen and signed on to the restoration of the Charles W. Morgan at Mystic Seaport Museum. The next four years were a deep dive into history, problem solving, and yankee ingenuity. Working on such a long term project beside a dynamic team of world class craftsman inspired Jon to start DAY + AGE, where he strives to bring together top shelf talent to solve complex design challenges and deliver remarkable results.
